Need some clarity on android caching api
« on: April 27, 2014, 09:52:49 PM »
Hi,

Can you please provide some details on the below API's.

Whats the difference between these two?
Code: [Select]
setDefaultCacheResponse(boolean b)
setDefaultStoreToCacheWhenComplete(boolean b)

If set to true, does this queue the queries even when I call a normal API. ex. createObjAtUri is same as calling createObjAtUriOrQueueIfOffline
Code: [Select]
setDefaultQueueWhenOffline(true)

setDefaultCacheResponse() refers to when you are sending ReadRequests, sets the default to be that the response is cached - see http://fatfractal.com/prod/linked_files/FF-Android-Docs/com/fatfractal/ffef/FatFractal.html#setDefaultCacheResponse(boolean)

setDefaultStoreToCacheWhenComplete() refers to when you are sending WriteRequests, sets the default to be that when you create or update objects then the object is stored to cache when the operation is complete - see http://fatfractal.com/prod/linked_files/FF-Android-Docs/com/fatfractal/ffef/FatFractal.html#setDefaultStoreToCacheWhenComplete(boolean)

with regards to setDefaultQueueWhenOffline - yes that's right. See http://fatfractal.com/prod/linked_files/FF-Android-Docs/com/fatfractal/ffef/FFWriteRequest.html#setQueueWhenOffline(boolean)
