Gotcha. It looks like you've got restrictive permissions set on your collections, could either grant public read permissions or give me access? In the latter case, suggest you add me to the app team in the console, then I can log in with console credentials.

Yes, that works better - I'm able to at least see my object summaries now. However, when I go to details, I'm getting the forever-spinner again.
I've found this gem in the documentation, and wondering if I'm getting bit by it:
Schemaless Operation

Note that object members do not need to be stored by reference. On the contrary, it is perfectly fine for an object to be stored by value within another object. Indeed, if we had not persisted the mom and dad objects before persisting steve, they would be included by value.

Having generally used Core Data in the past, I haven't been overly careful about which order I persist objects. Is it possible that, even though I have a ffdl schema with /REFERENCE defined, I might be storing some objects by value? For example: I get this response from a curl:

curl -u 'testuser:password'  https://hexational.fatfractal.com/wildgametracker/ff/resources/Gamecategory
{"result":[{"guid":"muukalRnDR-6mMiXzrmbo4","updatedAt":1415052108758,"createdBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","createdAt":1415052108758,"name":"Whitetail","ffUrl":"/ff/resources/Gamecategory/muukalRnDR-6mMiXzrmbo4","clazz":"GameCategory","ffRL":"/Gamecategory","updatedBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","version":1,"ffUserCanEdit":true},{"guid":"L50NnUILu8eIN82FFcb_F6","updatedAt":1415052108790,"ffRefs":[{"type":"FFO","url":"/ff/resources/Gamecategory/muukalRnDR-6mMiXzrmbo4","name":"parent"}],"createdBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","createdAt":1415052108790,"name":"Buck","ffUrl":"/ff/resources/Gamecategory/L50NnUILu8eIN82FFcb_F6","clazz":"GameCategory","ffRL":"/Gamecategory","updatedBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","version":1,"ffUserCanEdit":true},{"guid":"09eBucebnMfEvWtoq-k645","updatedAt":1415052108822,"ffRefs":[{"type":"FFO","url":"/ff/resources/Gamecategory/muukalRnDR-6mMiXzrmbo4","name":"parent"}],"createdBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","createdAt":1415052108822,"name":"Doe","ffUrl":"/ff/resources/Gamecategory/09eBucebnMfEvWtoq-k645","clazz":"GameCategory","ffRL":"/Gamecategory","updatedBy":"GSKltdZ9CJhPvH2HuCGKJ6","version":1,"ffUserCanEdit":true}],"statusMessage":"Retrieved 3 resources from /ff/resources/Gamecategory"}

Trying to retrieve the details of any one of these 3 object from the beta DataBrowser results in a hung spinner.

Hi Larry,

I think you ended up on the non-HTTPS site (our fault, it should automatically redirect to HTTPS ...), try this direct link:

Hi Larry,

I presume you're using the Data Browser at https://system.fatfractal.com/console/databrowser/databrowser.html. If so, you should know that we have a beta of a new version at https://beta.fatfractal.com/databrowser, which has been significantly updated. Please give that version a try, and if you're still having issues just reply back and we can figure it out. Make sure you add https://beta.fatfractal.com to your app's CORS setting and redeploy!

NoServer Questions and Answers / DataBrowser kickin my butt
« Last post by larry on November 04, 2014, 02:56:15 PM »
Well, try to make things simpler, and sometimes it just goes the opposite way  >:(
After successfully (somewhat at least) sync'ing up a Core Data model in a previous app, I decided to go nice and simple and kick Core Data to the curb, just use iOS NSObjects directly with a local store, for my latest attempt.
Here's the issue: I can persist my iOS objects to the FF model and retrieve them, but if I try to view any of these objects in the Data Browser, it just hangs (using the system login, so not a permissions issue). It generates the message "Retrieved 8 resources from /Wildgamephoto" or whichever collection, then just freezes with the forever-spinner.
Conversely, I can CREATE a new object in the collection directly in the Data Browser (assuming it's not hung) of that type, but then when I retrieve it in my iOS app, it comes in as an NSDictionary, not a first-class object. The class/clazz mapping doesn't seem to kick in, even though I'm not doing anything special with class names or such.

Last up: odd behavior with some queries against null. I have a very simple object type:
CREATE OBJECTTYPE Gamecategory (name STRING, parent REFERENCE /Gamecategory)
and I'm trying to query for objects without parents (e.g. top level categories). See for yourself using:
curl -u 'testuser:password' https://hexational.fatfractal.com/wildgametracker/Gamecategory/\(parent%20eq%20null\)
This retrieves 3 objects - two of them clearly have 'parent' references. And replacing the eq with ne returns no objects. Am I missing something with comparing references?

all help appreciated...

Hey Gary - I'm having the same issue with a new app I'm working on, https://hexational.fatfractal.com/wildgametracker
I have a single 'Wildgamephoto' object uploaded, but when I try to access it in the (cloud) data browser, it reports 1 object retrieved, but the object screen is blank. Only thing in the console log:

20:50:05 INFO - CachingCollection - 2014.11.03 45 at 01:49:54.302 AM UTC - /ff/resources/Wildgamephoto - system - Thread[pool-3-thread-37,5,main] - Creating new CachingCollection for Wildgamephoto with maxSize 10000 and maxCacheAge 300000

I can't see the object to delete it...any clues?
Thanks - Larry
